Wheel Alignment and Balancing
Often people don’t know exactly what to expect when getting a wheel alignment done, let alone how much it costs.
People also get confused between what a wheel alignment is and what wheel balancing is and when to get what.
Wheel Balancing
To put it in simple terms wheel balance is required when you get new tyres fitted, when your tyre has been removed from its rim ( ie getting a puncture fixed ) or if your car is shaking at high speeds.
Wheel Alignment
Again to keep it basic, wheel alignment is required if your tyres are wearing unevenly, if something has been replaced or knocked on your suspension, and advisable to do about once a year or so. Sometimes your car may also pull left or right which may be an indication that your alignment needs checking.
Often you can just have had a wheel alignment and your car may continue to pull to one side, this can be because of uneven tyre wear or suspension problems. So your alignment can be spot on, however unless everything else is perfect you can’t expect your car to drive like its on rails!
